Hypnotherapy for Sports Performance
As a participant in both team and individual sports, dynamic and static, I understand the impact the mental game can have, not only on our own performance but also that of our team mates. I have experienced the effects internal dialogue and negative self-talk had on my own performance, as well as experiencing how the negativity of one team member can impact the whole team, through their behaviour and how they speak to them self and the rest of the team. I have worked hard through the use of sports hypnosis to ensure my approach to training, practice and competition, both as an individual and as part of a team, is conducive to a good mental state, which in turn leads to improved performance.
As a person who participates in sport, you have probably experienced at one time or another the niggling doubts, the negativity, the little voice questioning your ability. You have most likely found yourself playing against the inner game, battling to overcome it, and as a consequence noticed the effects it has on your performance and the performance of those around you when playing team sport. The difference in your performance varies dramatically dependent on your state of mind. The inner game is perhaps as important, if not even more so than the physical aspect of sport. You can have the best golf swing in the world, or the best right foot in the league, however, if you allow the negativity to take over or lack belief in your own ability, you may never make the best of it or achieve your true potential.
Hypnotherapy has many applications in the sporting arena, such as, improving performance, reducing negativity and anxiety, aiding recovery and management of pain. Amateur or elite, playing for pleasure or playing to win, at Inner Game hypnotherapy I offer one-to-one sessions for individuals looking to improve the mental side of their game. Each session is tailored to meet your own requirements based on the information you provide. I endeavour to use the most up to date, proven techniques to give you the best possible opportunities to improve and maximise the investment in your time and money.
I also offer group sessions for teams and sports clubs, where we can look at things such as how to get the best out of training/practice sessions, learning what language to use to keep each other motivated and positive, and techniques for getting in ‘the zone’ for playing. These sessions are tailored to meet your requirements in terms of content and duration.
Location and Charges
I work from my home office in Ferndown, Dorset. There is ample roadside parking and I am only a five minute walk from bus routes to Bournemouth and Wimborne. If you would prefer to be seen in the comfort of your own home, please mention this when you get in touch.
Individual Sessions are charged at £60 (per hour), this includes any material such as CD’s and MP3 recordings and support via email or text between sessions if required. Discounts are available on multiple sessions paid for in advance.
